First night

Nobody noticed he was sick. First day nutiness, no doubt; nobody knows his normal, too. "There was a kid crying this morning," he told me, "and the teacher didn't hug him or anything. She just told him that he'd be OK, but I could tell he didn't believe it. She was mean." "She was probably trying to calm him down. Were you crying?" I asked him. "Only in the bathroom, 'cause I felt sick and you weren't there." Oooooh. Liamy. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry.
Maisie, conversely, bounded in the door, floating on air. "It was GREAT today!"
Halfway there.

what a sweet, brave guy.
he had to try, you know?
hope he feels fine again soon.
i wish we shared the same coast as well, inger.
(the young one has another trip to nyc in april, with the chorus. i may accompany her again, if i can swing it.)
They're so helpless when they're sick.
But they bounce back, too.
Kiran loves bigger girls clothes.... We will make room.
It is hard when they are sick and then on the first day of school makes it even worse. Don't beat yourself up, girl. I always wonder how kids feel when they come in the second or third day of school? I think it would be hard.
I hope our boy is feeling better today.
