Youch

Poor Maisie. Took a thumb in the eye at summer camp, and she and her Dad just called wondering what to do. I sent them to the ER, since it's hard to brush it off when I can't see it. Her white is red, he says. I think he's more traumatized than she is. Of course, she doesn't have to look at it. Nothing she hates more than eyedrops. Needles, maybe--but not by much.

It's good for them to do crisis together. I hate not being there, though.

Youch is right. I cringed just looking at the photo. Can't you kiss it and make it all better?

Eeeeew. Not nice to look at.

I'm good at emergencies. Daddies should be.

She'll be fine.

They say "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." I don't think it always holds true, though.

oh god. that looks awful. a thumb? a thumb can do that? good thing you're not there. if you're willing to shoot him in the leg to keep him from war, i can't imagine what you'd do to whoemever that thumb belongs to.

Turns out it was her own thumb. Hands over her head, waiting to catch a ball.

That's not her eye. I'll take it down; it's hard to look at.

I understand wanting to be there but it is good for Marc and Maisie to go through it together......

She will be just fine girl.

then i guess you won't be killing whoever owns the thumb. it still sucks, though.

I've had steel taken out of mine twice, and "underbody" spray once; none of it fun and I was much older at the time!

Hopefully a good night's rest and some eyedrops and everything's back to normal again!

Thinking of you!

Best wishes to your child.
In those emergency cases, I cannot be of help, I panic. Fortunately fathers can be of help.
