Photo Sunday!

Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, around noon; Maisie and I met for the first time that morning around nine, and our uber-hippy pediatrician had just jabbed her in the heel and given us the OK to go home. And so we did. Appearances notwithstanding--and you'll excuse the cliche of it all--that was the most amazing day of my entire life.

OH the poor kid, having to go through the ordeal of birth and then getting jabbed in the heal on top of it.

I have bittersweet memories of that time. J not only got a stab in the heel, but had tubes down her throat and an IV in her head. 2 weeks in NICU and my Mom on a different floor being diagnosed with colon cancer.

This is the same kid now that never cries when she gets a shot.

Go figure.

I should write about that day...

I love your sunday photos! Always beautiful and poignant.

NIce to see you ...
I have been reading and running.. off to do .. mostly nothing..

I read about your job possibility .. and was unable to post there for soem reason :( server down or something it said

I am wishing you well.. tough decisions you have there..

Let me say one thing..

Children are more adaptable than we think..

i moved mine from "home" here in Pa to Bostaon when they were in 2-3-5-7th grades.. and back again three years later..

It served only to make them stronger, more adventurous and improve their self esteem..

The bravest thing i ever saw them do?..
a few days after we moved in..it was. There were a few days of school left.. my own kids had finished at home. The school was at the end of our street...

They had noticed the neighborhood kids played in the parking lot of the church across from our house..

Just as school let out.. they all went over to that parking lot and just.. waited..

Bless those kids in that neighborhood... they went over to my kids and assimilated them into the group painlessly and life was good..

Anyway.. whatever you decide will be right, if you follow your heart.. so.. no way can you make the wrong decision..

i have faith in you

Great photo! I missed all teh early days with my 2. The only time I spent with a newborn was with my neice - countless tubes and wires attached. It was scary - I imagine 3 hours old must have been scary too for a new mom...
