Happy Halloween!!

First Grant took the tumble--tripped over somebody's pumpkin, lost in the blind spots of a ridiculous Darth Vader mask. Then Maisie, walking backwards up a hill, caught her heel in her cloak and landed hard on the pavement. Then Liam, near the end, runs over a speed bump but doesn't adjust for it and stubs his toe and goes flying, and is the first of the three to draw blood.

But they're not talking about that. "4.5!" Maisie calls out. Pounds, that is. Of candy. In her bag on my scale. Liam has a mound in front of him on the floor, and he's sorting. Into the trash with the Reeses and Baby Ruths and Tootsie Roll Pops. He still has 104 pieces. They're allowed to eat two.

"This is the greatest holiday," he says to her, and she nods and chews.

4.5 lbs of candy.

Now that's a haul. That child could teach me a thing or two!

They are adorable.

This morning I hear CJ whisper, "Sam, can you wait?" Sam replies, "For what?" CJ says incredulously, "It's Halloween! I can't wait to go trick-or-treating!"

I lay in bed grinning from ear to ear. What a way to wake up! They had a ball! CJ was a ninja similar to Liam! Sam a skeleton and Sawyer was Woody from Toy Story. When I kissed him goodnight I said, "Goodnight my little Woody, sleep tight!" He replies, "I'm not little! I'm a big, big Woody!"

He's 3 and the youngest! Size IS an issue! :-)

Jade loved it...
She continued to want to force feed me candy corn (gag).
She gets more excited over the stickers she got than the candy. Good thing.

I remember my trick or treating days. Your daughter looks so pretty.

Only 2 pieces? What are they going to do with the rest of the candy?

Ahhh the joys of trick-or-treating. My son didn't quite take in that much candy, but we still had fun. He tripped once also, but caught himself...lol. Masks have to be one the worst things to combine with children, darkness and running up and down stairs :)

Take care,
Sublime

Great pic - beautiful kids!

We had our share of falls too - the entire princess brigade (and Dorothy) took a fall (each in turn of course!)

Didn't even think to weigh the loot! It will stay out for a week or so, then will mysteriously disappear! They somehow never notice it has gone! :)

I guess Monday was a day for accidents. I'm glad everybody is well on your end though.

Wow 4.5lbs. Our Halloween candy always lasted until Christmas. That lasted until Easter and I'm not sure how long the Easter candy lasted. We always ended up throwing some stuff out.
