The Face of Compassionate Conservatism

"Now we're going to get down there and comfort folk and stuff."

"I don't think anyone anticipated the breech of the levees."

"Look, nobody anticipated the breech of the levees."

"But then the levees gave way, and nobody anticipated that."

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

"The good news is -- and it's hard for some to see it now -- that out of this chaos is going to come a fantastic Gulf Coast, like it was before. Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch."

LOL Great post by the way.

I hope the best thing that comes out of this disaster is that the people of the south (especially the red states) and the rest of the country see what kind of president we have.

I hope everyone has been moved to register to vote and vote in the 2006 midterm elections so we can make a difference in this country.

So Inger, I was reading this and I said aloud, "Bush just stop talking! You're embarrassing yourself!" My husband responded, "Now honey, no he's not...he's embarrassing the entire nation!" Oh man!!!

You gotta think that the next president will be a democrat. By the way, if he doesn't replace Rehnquist with a woman, like he should have when O'connor announced her retirement, he'll have a revolution on his hands. It's time that the poor, minorities, gays and women rise up to give him a swift kick in the...

He actually said "Gulf Coach" in one of his press conferences.

What a wanker.

I love it when he attempts to talk without a script or teleprompter.

"I don't think anyone anticipated the breech of the levees."

Lie, lie, lie.

I am reading a great book called "Bush on the Couch", where a psychoanalyst talks about GWB. The level of "denial" this man has can be traced back to his early childhood, is seen in his adolescence and is obvious throughout his adulthood. No one anticipated the breech of the levees? Oh c'mon, yes they did, and you knew that too, Mr. Bush.

Denial, Denial, Denial.

I understand Inger... i do.. its just that the way i see it.. we have to start pushing the positive energy out there before the negative wins forever..

But we have to do it each inour own time..

I am hoping that some of these people will get brand new wonderful starts and opportunities... I know that it will never fix what they have lost..
but I have to hope..

hugs to you my b-friend.. you have a gentle and loving spirit..

I loved "catapult the propaganda."

It is so hard to even hear his voice without losing it.

I have to turn off the radio when he comes on. Feel lucky not to have a TV this past week and a half, very lucky indeed.

Meanwhile I just found out that about 800 evacuees have come to Tucson. I went and registered to volunteer on Labor Day. Will probably be called in soon to do whatever I can.

Oh, and by the way, I've heard that Mercy Corps sends way more money to the needy than the Red Cross. Just sayin'.
