Upside-down leaves and a whiff of hope
There's a storm blowing in; you can see the white parts of the leaves, and everything's dancing around, all excited. Sublime reminded me about the old tale that trees grow upside down--their roots reaching up to the sky, their secrets down below in the earth. If you stare long enough at an enormous tree with that notion in mind, you begin to see the world in a different way.
The publisher of a chain of regional papers wants to chat with me next week; seems they've got some editor spots open and (holy shit) might actually consider a person like me with absolutely no experience. This, presumably, would be the 12-hr-days-at-$55K-a-year kind of job mentioned below, which is a tough single-earner income in these parts. But I wonder if I can do half of those 12 hrs at home?...

Some how the tide came rolling in and swept me away today. Hubbie was laid off this being time 5 since 2001.

I am sooo sending you good energy ! This would be a wonderful thig for you, and I know you can do it!
Ohio was good.. I didn't get to see too much of the dog show, but I did see a lot of dogs and I did experience enough of the feel of a dog show to know that I would never in a million years want to do that! Not that I would ever have a full bred dog or anything to begin with.. ( I only rescue, and due to my experience working at a vet.. prefer mixed breeds)

I am hoping you can maintain your work from home schedule. The office is hard to escape. Since starting this job, I have never left on time. Wait til September...I'll be a memory at 3pm. Won't they all be surprised!
